I don’t know what it is about signed copies of books that get me so excited. Even if I don’t particularly like the author, a signed copy makes me happy. Whether it’s a thought out note or a chicken scratch signature, the fact that the author took their time to make their own mark in the book is special. After all of the love, and hate, that the writer poured into the story, they continue to share that experience with their avid readers. In addition, personally and financially signed books have enhanced value. They are an exclusive, limited prize that add to any collection. Signed books are history to be passed down. I can seldom stop myself from buying a signed copy no matter the book, author, or cost.
